Maximum income requirement

Stadswonen Rotterdam is obliged to check the candidate’s income details at the time of allocation.

In accordance with EU regulations, Stadswonen Rotterdam is legally required to allocate accommodations and rooms with a maximum rent of EUR 710.68 (2017) to applicants or households with an annual income of no more than EUR 36,165 (the joint taxable income of you - and your partner where relevant - in 2017). This means that Stadswonen Rotterdam is required to check whether your income is not too high at the time of your moving into the accommodation.


Students in secondary school or higher education

Students enrolled in a Rotterdam secondary school or higher education institution are required to prove that they are receiving a student loan at the time of allocation. This proof can be downloaded online from Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO).


Working youth/Other

Stadswonen Rotterdam will register your income based on your statement of income (inkomensverklaring) as issued by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. Be sure to apply to the Tax and Customs Administration for such a statement in time. On average, these applications take five days to process. Please note: your statement of income should be issued no more than two years ago.
