The studios, which are also available to students, are 34m² on average. These come with a private kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Many of the accommodations have their own balcony. Some even have two. There are 120 rooms and 12 studios in the Schiedamse Vest residential building, which has an active residents’ committee.

Right in the city centre

It’s just about impossible to find a place to live any more central than this. You’ll be just around the corner from sociable Witte de Withstraat and all its well-known hotspots. There are new places popping up all the time. Schiedamse Vest itself is a street packed with nice bars and places to grab a bite to eat. A five-minute walk will get you to Koopgoot, Coolsingel, Lijnbaan or Oude Binnenweg for shopping. Cross the road and you’ll be at Beurs, from where you can get onto all metro lines and a lot of trams. You’ll also be living close to museums such as the Kunsthal, the Nieuwe Instituut and Showroom MAMA. Erasmus University and all the colleges are easily reachable by bike.
