This building dates from 1919 and was originally a textile factory. It is an exceptional property on a canal surrounded by greenery alongside the railway line. Both students and young working people live here – it’s a good mix. There are many nice restaurants and bars in Delfshaven and the building is only a five-minute bike ride from Erasmus MC and three sites belonging to Hogeschool Rotterdam.
As a student, Essenburgsingel offers you the opportunity to rent one of 89 rooms measuring an average 22m2, with which you’ll share a kitchen, bathroom and toilet with one or more fellow residents. There is also a 36m2 studio available for students, with completely private facilities. Young workers already renting from us (in this or another building) have the opportunity to rent one of twelve apartments measuring 50m2. There is an active residents’ committee.
The chic Essenburgsingel, which is close to the Heemraadssingel with all its greenery, is a beautiful place to live. It’s also very easy to get to, being just a three-minute cycle from Rotterdam Centraal station. The lively Middelland area is home to the Nieuwe Binnenweg and the West-Kruiskade, where there are plenty of shops to satisfy your needs. Looking for an even leafier space? It’s an easy bike ride to Vroesenpark, where you can hang out on the grass or check out a festival. Diergaarde Blijdorp is just around the corner and you can cycle to the city centre in just a couple of minutes. Erasmus MC and various sites belonging to Hogeschool Rotterdam are also within cycling distance.
