Alexander building

The entrance to this residential building, which is located in a quiet, leafy area, is to be found on Jacob van Campenplein. There is a communal living room with a bar that you can hire for parties. On the other side of the building there’s a shopping street where you can get your daily groceries and grab a good bite to eat. You can reach Kralingse Bos by bike in just five minutes. Fifteen minutes of pedalling will get you to the university and Hogeschool Rotterdam’s Kralingse Zoom location. If you’d rather take the bus, it stops right outside the door.

Rooms and apartments for students

The 162 rooms in Alexander measure an average 24m². You’ll share a kitchen, bathroom and toilet with several other residents. The fifteen apartments, which measure 62m² on average, each have a private kitchen, bathroom and toilet. The Alexander building has an active residents’ committee.

Living in Prins Alexander

Those who prefer to avoid the busy centre will feel like royalty living in the leafy Prins Alexander area. Kralingse Bos, which is only a 5-minute cycle ride away, is a place you can go for a run or just chill out on the grass by the Kralingse Plas. You’ll also be close to the large Alexandrium shopping centre, which is a paradise for those who enjoy shopping. The Alexander building is easy to get to, with Rotterdam Alexander train station less than 10 minutes away by bike. There’s a bus that gets you to the Kralingse Zoom metro stop in 5 minutes, from where you can reach the city in no time. Or you can cycle to the centre in 25 minutes. Fifteen minutes of pedalling will get you to the university and Hogeschool Rotterdam’s Kralingse Zoom location.
