How long is the notice period for ending a tenancy agreement?
The notice period for terminating a tenancy agreement is one month. This can be initiated at any time during the month. If the last rental day happens to fall on a weekend or public holiday, it is deferred to the next working day.
What must I do if I want to move to another Stadswonen Rotterdam accommodation?
If you’re moving within the same building or to another accommodation provided via Stadswonen Rotterdam, you can easily terminate your tenancy agreement via the Stadswonen Portal.
Please note: there is a one month notice period. To avoid paying rent on two homes for any longer than you have to, make sure you request the cancellation as soon as possible. A (short) overlap in the two rental contracts is sometimes unavoidable: your new home may be ready for you to move into before the one month notice for your old home has ended. Because our accommodations are rented out in immediate succession, a (short) overlap is sometimes unavoidable.
